Section 4 - Website-Specific Terms (microgrinder.com)
The Website is an informational platform providing details about our online poker education school, courses, books, and related content and products. The Website does not allow user registration or purchases directly. All course enrollments and purchases are conducted through the School at pokerschool.microgrinder.com, which is governed by the School-specific terms in Section 5 of these Terms.
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Website. While browsing the Website, you are subject to all other applicable sections of these Terms, including but not limited to the intellectual property provisions in Section 2, the educational disclaimer in Section 3, the prohibited uses in Section 8, and the disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability in Sections 12 and 13.
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, including the School, Amazon, and other educational or commercial resources. Such links are provided for your convenience only. - Individual Courses: Single course purchases providing lifetime access to all course materials, including videos, downloads, and supplementary resources associated with that course.
- Course Bundles: Bundled course packages providing lifetime access to all course materials included within the bundle.
- Digital Downloads: Downloadable digital products including eBooks, PDFs, workbooks, hand charts, and other educational materials. These are delivered digitally and do not include physical goods.
- Monthly Membership: A subscription-based membership providing access to a designated set of courses and content as defined by the membership tier. Membership renews automatically each month until canceled. Access to membership content is contingent on maintaining an active, paid subscription.
- One-on-One Coaching Sessions: Live, personalized coaching sessions conducted via video conference with availability subject to instructor schedule. These sessions must be scheduled in advance and are governed by the non-refundable terms outlined in Section 5.2.
Prices for our products and services are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue any Service or product, or any part or content thereof, without notice at our sole discretion. We shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, price change, suspension, or discontinuance of any Service or product.
5.2 Refund Policy
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on the following products:
- Individual Courses, Course Bundles, and Digital Downloads: If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the original purchase date, no questions asked. To request a refund, please contact us at support@microgrinder.com within the applicable refund period.
- Monthly Membership: This 14-day refund policy applies only to the first month's payment. Subsequent monthly renewal payments are non-refundable. You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@microgrinder.com to prevent future charges, but previously charged monthly fees for completed billing periods will not be refunded.
- One-on-One Coaching Sessions: All coaching sessions are non-refundable due to their live, time-reserved nature. Once a session is booked, the instructor has reserved that time exclusively for you, and therefore we cannot offer refunds for coaching sessions under any circumstances.
5.3 Accuracy, Completeness, and Timeliness of Information
We are not responsible if information made available in the School is not accurate, complete, or current. The material in the School is provided for general information only and should not be relied upon or used as the sole basis for making decisions without consulting primary, more accurate, more complete, or more timely sources of information. Any reliance on the material in the School is at your own risk.
The School may contain certain historical information, which is not current and is provided for reference only. We reserve the right to modify the contents of the School at any time, but we have no obligation to update any information in our School. You agree that it is your responsibility to monitor changes to our School.
5.4 Accounts and Billing
Account Security and Sharing: Your account is for your sole, personal use. Account sharing is strictly prohibited. You are allowed one account per person. You may not permit the Service to be used by anyone other than yourself. You agree to maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
Account Termination for Sharing: Violation of our account sharing policy may result in immediate termination of your account without refund.
Billing Accuracy: We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made through the School. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and payment information, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed. You are responsible for any applicable sales tax, VAT, or other governmental fees associated with your purchase, which will be calculated and charged at checkout where required by law.
Subscription Billing: If you purchase a monthly membership, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel your subscription. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@microgrinder.com.
Membership Changes: You may upgrade or downgrade your membership tier at any time through your Memberships & Subscriptions area. If you upgrade to a higher tier, you will be charged a prorated amount for the difference immediately (if the difference exceeds $0.99). If you downgrade to a lower tier, you will retain access to your current tier until the end of your current billing period, at which point you will be charged the lower tier rate.
Failed Payment Policy: If your monthly membership payment fails, we will automatically retry charging your payment method up to 3 times on days 3, 7, and 14 following the failed payment attempt. If all retry attempts fail, you will be automatically unenrolled from the membership and will lose access to membership content. However, we reserve the right to terminate your membership after any failed payment attempt at our sole discretion, including after the first failed attempt if we determine it necessary.
5.5 Promotion and Coupon Integrity
From time to time, we may offer promotional discounts, coupons, or special pricing (collectively, "Promotions"). Promotions are offered at our sole discretion and may be subject to additional terms and conditions, including limitations on frequency of use, eligibility, or duration.
You acknowledge that our platform may not always have technical mechanisms to automatically prevent the repeated or unauthorized use of Promotions. Regardless of any technical limitation, such reuse is strictly prohibited.
You agree not to exploit, manipulate, or reuse any Promotion in a manner inconsistent with its stated purpose or limitations, including but not limited to:
- Reusing a Promotion intended for one-time or limited use, including after canceling and re-enrolling in a course, bundle, or membership;
- Creating a new account to redeem a Promotion you have previously used or that is intended for new students only;
- Canceling a purchase or membership and re-purchasing using the same or a different Promotion to obtain a lower price;
- Using a Promotion not intended for you or for an audience you do not belong to;
- Sharing, publishing, or distributing a Promotion code to individuals or audiences for whom it was not intended;
- Combining or stacking Promotions unless expressly permitted;
- Engaging in any other conduct designed to circumvent promotional restrictions.
If, in our sole discretion, we determine that you have engaged in Promotion misuse or abuse, we reserve the right to:
- Revoke the Promotion and void the discounted transaction;
- Charge the full, non-discounted price for the applicable product or Service;
- Suspend or terminate your account and access to all Services without refund;
- Restrict your eligibility for future Promotions.
For purposes of this section, we may use any reasonable method to identify misuse, including but not limited to matching account information such as name, email address, payment method, or device identifiers across multiple accounts. We reserve the right to deny refund requests if we determine a Promotion was used in bad faith or in violation of these integrity standards.
Section 6 - Tools Hub-Specific Terms (tools.microgrinder.com)
The MicroGrinder Poker Tools Hub provides access to a suite of interactive poker study applications, including RangeLab Basic, RangeLab Pro, Range Viewer Basic, Range Viewer Pro, and Session Assist (the "Tools"). Access to the Tools Hub is provided as a feature associated with your enrollment in qualifying MicroGrinder Poker School courses and memberships, and is governed by these Terms in addition to the School-specific terms in Section 5 where applicable.
6.1 Access and Eligibility
Access to the Tools Hub is granted based on your active enrollment in qualifying MicroGrinder Poker School courses or memberships, as determined by us at our sole discretion. The specific courses or membership tiers that grant access to each Tool may change at any time. Access to the Tools Hub does not constitute a separate purchase and is provided as a feature of your existing enrollment. We reserve the right to modify, expand, or restrict which enrollments grant access to which Tools at any time and without notice.
Access may also be granted through promotional campaigns or free trial offers at our sole discretion and subject to the terms of the specific offer. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any promotional access program at any time.
If your underlying course enrollment or membership is canceled, refunded, or otherwise terminated, your access to the Tools Hub and all associated Tools may be revoked simultaneously or shortly thereafter.
6.2 Authentication
The Tools Hub uses passwordless, magic link authentication. Rather than a traditional password, you will receive a secure login link via email each time you request access to the Tools Hub. This login link is single-use and time-limited. Sessions are maintained via secure, httpOnly cookies stored in your browser. You are responsible for the security of your email account and for all activity conducted through your Tools Hub session. You should not forward, share, or otherwise distribute your login link, as doing so would allow another party to access your account.
6.3 User-Generated Content
You retain sole ownership of all data you create within the Tools Hub, including poker ranges, range folders and labels, session logs, hand histories, hand notes, and screenshots ("Your Content"). Your Content reflects your personal poker work, study, and strategy development. We have no claim to it, and we do not treat it as ours in any way.
However, the Tools Hub cannot function without us handling Your Content on your behalf. When you save a range, we write it to our database. When you log back in, we retrieve it and display it to you. When you record a session, we store it so your history persists. This is the entire purpose of the platform. In order to perform these technical operations legally, we need a limited license from you to do so.
By using the Tools Hub, you grant us a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the Services for you. This license does not give us any rights to Your Content beyond what is strictly necessary to run the platform. We will never use Your Content for analytics beyond what is needed to operate the Services, marketing, training machine learning or AI models, or any form of sharing with third parties.
Data Retention and Expiration: Your ownership of Your Content is meaningful only while you have active access to the Tools Hub. If your access expires or is revoked and is not reinstated within a reasonable period, Your Content may be permanently deleted during routine database maintenance. Specifically, accounts whose access has been expired or revoked for more than 6 consecutive months are subject to permanent data deletion without further notice. We are not obligated to retain Your Content indefinitely for inactive accounts, and we are not liable for deletion of data associated with expired or revoked access.
6.4 Account Sharing
Your Tools Hub account is for your sole, personal use. Account sharing is strictly prohibited. You may not permit any other person to use your account, share your login link with another party, or otherwise allow another individual to access the Tools Hub through your account. Violation of this policy may result in immediate and permanent revocation of your Tools Hub access without notice or refund.
6.5 Data and Service Availability
We make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of the Tools Hub and to preserve your data. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous availability of the Tools Hub or any individual Tool. We are not liable for any loss of data, interruption of service, or damages resulting from technical failures, server outages, maintenance periods, database errors, or any other circumstances, whether within or outside our control. You are solely responsible for maintaining your own records and backups of any data you consider important.
6.6 Free Trials
From time to time, we may offer free trial access to certain Tools or to the Tools Hub as a whole. Free trial access is provided at our sole discretion and is subject to the specific terms of the trial offer, as well as these Terms. We reserve the right to modify the terms of, or discontinue, any free trial offer at any time. Upon expiration of a free trial, your access level will revert to whatever access is granted by your active course enrollments or memberships, which may mean reduced or no access depending on your enrollment status at that time.
6.7 App Previews
From time to time, enrollment in certain qualifying MicroGrinder Poker School courses may automatically grant you a complimentary, time-limited preview of one or more Pro Tools within the Tools Hub ("App Preview"). App Previews are offered at our sole discretion as a promotional feature to allow students to experience Pro Tools before committing to a paid upgrade.
- One Preview Per Account: App Previews are limited to one per student account, ever, across all Tools and all course enrollments. A student who has previously received an App Preview for any Pro Tool — whether that preview is currently active, has expired naturally, or has been revoked — will not receive a second App Preview from any subsequent course enrollment or promotional offer. This restriction applies regardless of which course triggered the original preview or which courses the student enrolls in thereafter.
- Duration and Expiration: Each App Preview has a fixed duration as specified at the time of grant, typically expressed in days. Upon expiration, access to the previewed Tool(s) will revert to whatever access level is granted by your active course enrollments or memberships. We do not provide advance notice of individual preview expirations beyond what is displayed within the Tools Hub interface.
- Non-Transferable and Non-Renewable: App Previews are personal to the account to which they are granted and may not be transferred to another account. App Previews are not renewable. Upon expiration, continued access to Pro Tools requires an active enrollment in a qualifying course, membership tier, or other access grant.
- No Refund Value: App Previews are provided at no charge and have no monetary value. They are not refundable, and their expiration or revocation does not entitle you to any refund, credit, or compensation of any kind.
- Revocation: We reserve the right to revoke an App Preview at any time at our sole discretion, including if we determine the preview was received in error, in violation of these Terms, or through misuse of any promotional mechanism.
Section 7 - Account Termination
The obligations and liabilities of the parties incurred prior to the termination date shall survive the termination of this agreement for all purposes.
These Terms are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or when you cease using the applicable Service (noting that ceasing use does not automatically cancel a recurring Monthly Membership subscription; see Section 5.4 for cancellation procedures).
If, in our sole judgment, you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any term or provision of these Terms, we also may terminate this agreement at any time without notice. Upon such termination, you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination, and we may accordingly deny you access to our Services or any part thereof.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in full effect, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, the educational disclaimer, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and indemnification.
Section 8 - Prohibited Uses
In addition to other prohibitions set forth in these Terms, you are prohibited from using our Services or their content:
- For any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to copyright, data protection, and privacy laws;
- To infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others;
- To harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability;
- To submit false or misleading information;
- To misuse, exploit, or abuse any Promotion in violation of the integrity standards set forth in Section 5.5;
- To upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the Services or any related website, other websites, or the Internet;
- To collect or track the personal information of others;
- To spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape;
- For any obscene or immoral purpose;
- To interfere with or circumvent the security features of the Services or any related website, other websites, or the Internet;
- To use any content from our Services to train, develop, or improve any machine learning or artificial intelligence model without our express written permission;
- To reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Services;
- To permit the Services to be used by anyone other than yourself — account sharing is strictly prohibited across all of our platforms;
- To circumvent any limitations imposed on your account, including any license, timing, or use restrictions;
- To lend, sell, resell, lease, sublicense, transfer, or distribute access to the Services for the benefit of a third party;
- To share, distribute, or make available course materials, videos, tool features, or any proprietary content to any third party.
You must not use the bandwidth and storage resources provided by us in an unreasonable and disproportionate manner. We monitor usage to ensure fair distribution of resources among all users. If your usage exceeds what we consider reasonable, we reserve the right to take appropriate measures, including but not limited to implementing bandwidth throttling, imposing storage limits, or suspending access to the Services.
We reserve the right to terminate your use of the Services or any related platform for violating any of the prohibited uses.
Section 9 - Personal Information
Your submission of personal information through any of our Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. This applies to all three of our platforms: the Website (microgrinder.com), the School (pokerschool.microgrinder.com), and the Tools Hub (tools.microgrinder.com). The types of personal information collected and how it is used differ by platform and are described in detail in the Privacy Policy. By using any of our Services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described therein.
Section 10 - User Content and Community
Student Community: Where our Services include community features, such as course discussion boards or comment sections, students may post comments, questions, and interact with other students and instructors. By participating in our community, you agree to conduct yourself respectfully and professionally at all times.
Feedback and Submissions: If you choose to provide feedback, including any ideas, suggestions, concepts, processes, techniques, questions, answers, or other comments related to our Services, proposed services, documentation, or business ("Feedback"), we will own and may use such Feedback without any restrictions or obligations to you. You hereby waive any claim you have to ownership, compensation, monetary consideration, or any other form of consideration for such Feedback.
Content Monitoring: We may, but have no obligation to, monitor, edit, or remove content that we determine in our sole discretion to be unlawful, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene, or otherwise objectionable, or that violates any party's intellectual property rights or these Terms.
User Responsibilities: You agree that any comments or content you submit will not violate any right of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, personality, or other personal or proprietary rights. You further agree that your comments will not contain libelous or otherwise unlawful, abusive, or obscene material, or contain any computer virus or other malware that could in any way affect the operation of the Services. You may not use a false email address, pretend to be someone other than yourself, or otherwise mislead us or third parties as to the origin of any comments or submissions. You are solely responsible for any comments you make and their accuracy. We take no responsibility and assume no liability for any comments posted by you or any third party.
Section 11 - Disclaimer of Warranties
We do not guarantee, represent, or warrant that your use of our Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant that the results that may be obtained from the use of the Services will be accurate or reliable.
You agree that from time to time we may remove the Services for indefinite periods of time or cancel the Services at any time, without notice to you.
You expressly agree that your use of, or inability to use, the Services is at your sole risk. The Services and all products and services delivered to you through the Services are (except as expressly stated by us) provided "as is" and "as available" for your use, without any representation, warranties, or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including all implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.
Alton Teaches LLC dba MicroGrinder Poker School, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and its licensors do not warrant that:
- The Services will function uninterrupted, secure, or be available at any particular time or location;
- Any errors or defects will be corrected;
- The Services are free of viruses or other harmful components; or
- The results of using the Services will meet your requirements.
Section 12 - Limitation of Liability
In no case shall Alton Teaches LLC dba MicroGrinder Poker School, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, interns, suppliers, service providers, or licensors be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, arising from:
- Your use of any of the Services or any products procured using the Services;
- Any errors or omissions in any content;
- Any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the Services or any content posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the Services;
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content;
- Any conduct or content of any third party in connection with the Services;
- Any other claim related in any way to your use of the Services or any product,
even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Section 13 - Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alton Teaches LLC dba MicroGrinder Poker School and our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns, and employees from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms or the documents they incorporate by reference, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
Section 14 - Third-Party Links and Services
Certain content, products, and services available via our Services may include materials from third parties. Third-party links in our Services may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of those sites, and we do not warrant and will not have any liability or responsibility for any third-party materials or websites, or for any other materials, products, or services of third parties.
You further acknowledge and agree that Alton Teaches LLC dba MicroGrinder Poker School shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such third-party websites or services.
We are not liable for any harm or damages related to the purchase or use of goods, services, resources, content, or any other transactions made in connection with any third-party websites. Please review carefully the third party's policies and practices and make sure you understand them before you engage in any transaction.
Section 15 - Severability
In the event that any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms. Such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.
Section 16 - Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
These Terms and any policies or operating rules posted by us in connection with our Services constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and us and govern your use of the Services, superseding any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and us, including any prior versions of these Terms.
Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these Terms shall not be construed against the drafting party.
Section 17 - Changes to These Terms
You can review the most current version of these Terms at any time on this page.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates and changes to our Services.
