Section 5 - Third-Party Service Providers

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction and comply with legal requirements. We do not store your complete credit card information on our servers.

Section 6 - Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer's hard drive. We use cookies to enhance your browsing experience and collect information about how visitors and students use our Services.

Website and School: We use cookies to enhance your browsing experience, keep you logged into your account, remember your preferences, and analyze how students use our courses. We may also use automated tracking methods on our website, in communications with you, and in our products and services, to measure performance and engagement.

Tools Hub: The Tools Hub uses a secure, httpOnly first-party session cookie (named mg_session) to maintain your authenticated session. This is a first-party cookie set directly by tools.microgrinder.com — it is not a third-party tracking cookie and is not shared with advertisers or external services. This cookie is required for the Tools Hub to function and cannot be disabled without preventing login.

If you are using one of the common Internet web browsers, you can set up your browser to either let you know when you receive a cookie or to deny cookie access to your computer. Most web browsers allow some control over cookies through browser settings, including the ability to accept or reject cookies, delete existing cookies, and receive notifications when cookies are sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Services.

Please note that because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to "Do Not Track" signals, we do not alter our data collection and usage practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.

Section 7 - Data Retention

Website: Automatically collected log data is retained as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, and compliance with legal obligations.

When you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where retention is required by law.

Tools Hub: We retain your account data and user-generated content (ranges, sessions, hand notes, and screenshots) for as long as you maintain active access to the Tools Hub. If your access expires or is revoked and is not reinstated, your data may be retained for a reasonable period before deletion. Specifically, accounts whose access has been expired or revoked for more than 6 consecutive months are subject to permanent data deletion during routine database maintenance, without further notice. We are not obligated to retain your content indefinitely for inactive accounts.

Section 8 - Data Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We implement reasonable and industry-standard security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:

However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
